Boat Themed Wedding IdeasCan you imagine the relaxing sounds of the water, breeze on your face, and the magical colors of a South Florida sunset embracing you and your fiancé as you step out for your first dance as husband and wife? Envisioning yourself in this environment makes it difficult to imagine holding your wedding anywhere other than a majestic yacht, all while riding along the breathtaking waters of Miami and Fort Lauderdale. With Charter One Yachts, all of this and more is possible. Your wedding day is the day you have dreamed of for many years, and it should celebrate everything you have wished for. And, unlike reception halls where the environment has to be staged and brought in from the outside, a yacht wedding allows you to take advantage of the incredible scenery already available to you – a backdrop of gorgeous beaches, waterways and eye-catching cityscapes.
In addition to having access to exterior scenery and an atmosphere that will make your yacht wedding one to remember, the interior of the yacht you choose will become your own personal playground. The theme, décor, props, music, entertainment, menu and more is all up to you. Just as every bride is unique, the event planners at Charter One want each wedding to be unique, down to the very last detail. Theme is one major detail many brides put a lot of consideration, time and energy in to. Each theme our brides choose comes to life with the help of color selection, props, linens, lighting, musical arrangements, dress attire and more. Depending on the bride’s distinct personality and yacht choice, the selected theme takes on a flair of its own. Here are some of our favorite yacht wedding themes to consider for your special day:
  • Under the Sea– With this theme, you will want to capture the ethereal spirit of the underwater kingdom, mermaids and all. Think whimsical in terms of atmosphere, white linens with splashes of turquoise for color arrangement, and an eclectic mix of seashells, glass bottles and old treasure trunks for décor. Top it off with a steel drum band and sushi bar for your guests and they are sure to have a night to remember!
  • The White Party – Elegance is the ideal word to sum up a White Party. This theme is brought together with the use of timeless white linens, white rugs, and a variety of lace and ribbons for chair backs and decoration. Consider glass centerpieces overflowing with gardenias, candles in various shades of white, white table settings (perhaps with splashes of silver or gold for a hint of glitz), and topping the wedding off with an all-white menu. You can even serve White-Chocolate Martinis at the bar!
  • Classic Nautical – For this seaside soiree, decorate with anchors, lanterns, ropes, flags, stripes and a touch of red. Incorporate navy and white table décor, with overflowing red flowers as your centerpiece, topped off with a seafood buffet for your guests. Think subtle and chic with this theme, in order to not go overboard.
  • The Great Gatsby – This theme can go in two directions, art deco or bohemian style – whichever you choose, just be sure to add lots of pearls and feathers! Consider a finger wave hairstyle, outfitting the wait staff in flapper style dresses, and incorporating shades of gold intertwined with classic black and white for your decor. This would be the ideal theme to have a live band, old style music and lots of champagne!
