Best known for its one-of-a-kind Boat Parade, this multicultural event features over 100 vessels, from kayaks to sailboats to mega-yachts, all bedecked in holiday regalia. Beginning at 6:00 p.m., the parade will embark on a 12-mile route that officially runs from the Riverside Hotel in downtown Fort Lauderdale to Lake Santa Barbara, and lasts for about an hour and a half. In addition to the Floridian Princess, Charter One’s The Summer Wind will also participate in the parade, hosting Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza and Paul and Young Ron of 105.9.
This year’s theme, “Rockin’ Boats & Holiday Floats” was chosen to capture the major milestone of the parade’s 40th year running. In honor of Fort Lauderdale’s 100th birthday, Winterfest has called on all vintage boats to enter the parade in a new category. You won’t want to miss this spectacular flotilla of holiday cheer, so be sure to purchase your tickets today if you wish to gain access to the Grandstand Viewing Area.
The Nova Southeastern University bow of the Floridian Princess will host the Grand Marshal, Barry Gibb of Bee Gees fame.
