The 2011-12 Volvo Ocean Race kicked off Oct. 29 in Alicante, Spain, and leg 6 of the 10-continent race will end on May 6 for a stopover and 14-day celebration at the Downtown Miami Race Village, a 27-acre expanse filled with interactive installations and scheduled race-centric events. At Charter One we are so excited that the Ft. Lauderdale Air & Sea Show, now renamed the Lauderdale Air Show will return at noon on April 28th and 29th after five long years! The U. S. Air Force Thunderbirds will headline this four hour show over the ocean at Ft. Lauderdale Beach. Every branch of the United States armed services will perform in the show. The Leap Frogs, the U.S. Navy Seals elite parachute demonstration team will start the show by jumping in the American Flag for the National Anthem.
